Katrina earned her Nursing Degree at TCU (Texas Christian University) Harris School of Nursing and specialized in Inpatient Obstetrics and Postpartum/Newborn Care from 2003 to 2017 in nationally recognized and accredited hospitals in the Greater Denver Metro area and Summit County, Houston, and Los Angeles. In 2013, Katrina obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from Purdue University Global. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate for her PhD at Hampton University. Her passion is in helping women with high risk and low-risk pregnancies, birth advocacy rights, patient education and preparation, postpartum and newborn Nurse care through her in-home agency services and consultations. She was featured on Ted.com in 2019 for her TedX Talk “The Cost to Labor.” Katrina currently serves as University Faculty and on several boards/committees focused on safe practices in obstetrical care.
Katrina enjoys spending private, family time with her husband and 4 sons homeschooling and traveling the world. In 2018, after a very difficult and life-threatening delivery of her fourth son, nurse home visitation was necessary to ensure the safe transition from hospital to home for her and her newborn. From this experience birthed Katrina’s desire to want all mothers and parents to experience the same serenity that this professional, in-home nurse practitioner provided. After 3 previously uncomplicated, hypnobirthing experiences, Katrina knew that between her personal birth stories and her professional expertise, she could do more to enhance the lives of other families whether it is their first child, second, third and beyond.
